Day 01: Welcome to Delhi
Upon arrival at Delhi International Airport, Nepal Reisen representative will meet you and take you for an overnight stay at Hotel .
Day 02: All day sightseeing in old and new Delhi
A full day tour of Old Delhi and New Delhi. Old Delhi tour includes: a visit to some markets, mosques, the Red Fort and a visit to the Raj Ghat, which is a memorial to Mahatma Gandhi. In New Delhi, visit Humayun’s Tomb belonging to the predecessor of the Taj Mahal, the 12th Century Qutub Minar, the Parliament House and India Gate.
Day 03: Delhi – Mandawa
Drive to Mandawa, a small and busy market town from the 18th Century, which was subsequently fortified by merchant families. Today, it has some of the finest painted Havelis (traditional mansions) in the region.
Day 04: Mandawa - Bikaner
Drive to Bikaner. Once a busy trade centre, Bikaner was frequented by the legendary caravans that strung out across the desert from West Asia to Africa. The afternoon half-day tour will take you around this fortified city perched above the rocky desert and view camels and temples from the overlook. You will also witness a rich mixture of local music, dance, art and wildlife. Other attractions are Junagarh Fort and the Camel Breeding Farm.
Day 05: Bikenar - Jaisalmer
After breakfast drive to Jaisalmer, where the ‘Golden City’ awaits you with its desert fortress, whose stone ramparts glint like gold by the setting sun. It’s a city that is unrivalled in its magic, romance and exotic beauty.
Day 06: Camel Ride on Sand Dunes
Enjoy a morning tour of the city founded by Rawal Jaisal in 1156. Once the capital of the Bhari Rajputs, the walled city of Jaisalmer has narrow cobblestone alleys. The mansions can be seen with their intricate latticework and stone carvings. About a quarter of the old city’s population reside within the walls of the Jaisalmer Fort, which has 99 bastions around its circumference. It’s a fascinating place to tour around during the day and enjoy a special viewing of Jaisalmer’s famed sand dunes from the back of a camel in the evening.
Day 07: Jaisalmeher– The Jodhpur
After breakfast, drive to Jodhpur, Rajasthan’s second largest city that stands at the edge of the Thar Desert. Home to India’s most spectacular fortress-palace, the Mehrangarh Fort, Jodhpur was founded in 1459 AD by Rao Jodha, a chief of the Rajput clan of Rathore rulers. In the Mehrangarh Fort, you will see battle-scarred walls, courtyards and palaces, and get an incredible view of the modern city of Jodhpur. While in the city, you will also visit Jaswant Thada, an imposing white marble cenotaph built to commemorate acts of bravery and generosity of the rulers in the 19th Century. A trip to Jodhpur is not complete without a visit to the magnificent Umaid Bhavan Palace. Another must-do is a foray into the colorful local markets to experience the bustle of everyday life in Jodhpur.
Day 08: Jodhapur -Rohet
After breakfast drive to Rohet Garh, which is the ancestral home of the Rathore dynasty since 1622. Rohet became one of the most important state of Marwar. The Rathore descendents have restored the compound and opened it as a luxury Heritage Hotel. Each guest room is unique with frescoed walls, antiques with traditional furnishings. The pride of the region is the Marwari horse, a hot-blooded desert steed bred by the Rathores to excel in military campaigns. After a sumptuous lunch, take a jeep safari to a local Bishnoi village. These hospitable desert people are ardent conservationists, working to preserve India’s endangered Blackbuck Antelope that lives in close proximity to the community.
Day 09: Rohet – Ranakpur - Udaipur
Drive to Udaipur, en-route visiting the famed Ranakpur Jain Temple, one of the biggest and most important pilgrimage sites for the Jain community in India and an extremely beautiful complex for travelers to visit.
Day 10: City Ride and Lake Cruise
After breakfast, enjoy a guided tour of the Lake City of Udaipur, a wonderful oasis nestling in the dry heart of Rajasthan. It is probably one of the most romantic cites with a romantic or exotic tale to tell. The huge City Palace of Udaipur towering over Lake Pichola is the largest palace complex in Rajasthan. You will also visit the Jagdish temple, a fine example of Indo-Aryan art that continues to be frequented by believers to this day. Visit Sahelion Ki Bari, the exclusive garden of the Royal Ladies, who once lived in the palaces. The perfect end to your tour is a boat ride on the serene and beautiful Lake Pichola with the sun setting behind the hills.
Day 11: Pushkar Camel Fair
Drive to Pushkar. The small and beautiful town of Pushkar is set in a valley just about 14 km off Ajmer surrounded by hills on three sides and sand dunes on the other end. Visit famous Brahma temple. Spend evening time at Pushkar Lake. Overnight at Exotic Tents.
Day 12: Take part in Festival
The fair is a spectacle that mixes religious dance, music, trade and sport in a cacophony of noise and color. Fairgoers dress in traditional finery. Saffron-robed Sadhus (Hindu holy men) with ash-smeared faces beg among the crowds, vendors hawk jewelry and textiles. Thousands of bulls, cows, sheep, goats, horses and camels in richly decorated saddles lend their sounds and smells to the sensory onslaught. Witness exhilarating camel races, which is the main highlight of this festival in Pushkar. By this point one is thoroughly under India’s magic spell. Overnight in Exotic Tents
Day 13: Puskar - Jaipur
After breakfast drive to Pink City Jaipur . Arrive Jaipur transfer to Hotel and evening visit around the city. Visit Laxmi Narayan temple, Place the wind and local market.
Day 14: Palaces and Pavilions of Jaipur
After breakfast, enjoy half-day excursion to Amber fort with Elephant Ride (subject to availability). Enjoy the sights of the Shish Mahal built in the 17th century. This perfect blend of Hindu and Islamic architecture will surely mesmerize you. Visit the hall of public audience and Maharaja Man Singh's Palace who had 12 queens. Later, visit the city palace Museum, the Royal Residence and Jantar Mantar (astronomical observatory).
Day 15: Japipur – Fatepur, sikri- Agra
Drive to Agra, en-route visit the deserted capital city of Fatehpur Sikri, where you will wonder why this well-preserved capital was dramatically abandoned a few years after it was built. In Agra you will come face to face with India’s most perfect architectural creation – the Taj Mahal, a monument of eternal love. Next stop at the impressive Agra Fort and go through the multitude of chambers in this regal residence. As you drive through the city, you will get to see some local bazaars.
Day 16: Experience Taj Mahal & Departure
After sunrise, admire the beauty of the Taj Mahal. Drive to Delhi and to the Delhi International airport for departure.
